Terms of Service

By using Squad Tracker, you agree to these terms. Please read them - especially the location-accuracy warning below.

1. What Squad Tracker is

Squad Tracker is a tool for small groups to share their live location, chat, and voice messages with each other for the duration of a shared "room" - for example, coordinating a trip, a hike, or meeting up in a crowd. It is not a professional safety, emergency, or asset-tracking system.

GPS accuracy warning. Phone GPS is not perfectly accurate and can be delayed, offline, or off by tens of meters, especially indoors or in dense areas. Do not rely on Squad Tracker for emergency situations, life-safety decisions, or any situation where inaccurate location data could cause harm. Always use official emergency services (e.g. 112 in the EU) in an emergency.

2. Who can use it

You must be old enough to consent to online services in your country, or have a parent/guardian's involvement if you are not. You are responsible for anything that happens under your account or guest session.

3. Acceptable use

Room owners can remove (kick) members from their room, and we reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of anything you send through the app (messages, photos, voice clips, your profile picture). By sending it, you allow us to transmit and temporarily store it as needed to deliver the app's features (e.g. relaying a chat message to your room). See the Privacy Policy for exactly how long different types of content are kept.

You're responsible for making sure you have the right to share anything you upload (e.g. don't upload someone else's photo as your avatar without permission).

5. Accounts

You can use Squad Tracker as a guest without an account, or create one for a persistent username, avatar, and login across devices. Keep your password confidential. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings.

6. No warranty

Squad Tracker is provided "as is," built and maintained as a small independent project. We don't guarantee it will be available, error-free, or perfectly accurate at all times. We do our best to keep it running and to fix real bugs quickly.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Squad Tracker and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including damages resulting from inaccurate or delayed location data.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Continuing to use Squad Tracker after a change means you accept the updated terms.
